Jason Marsalis, who is both a drummer and vibraphonist, focuses on the latter talent with In a World of Mallets, his new album, released Feb. 19 via Basin Street Records. His third release for the label was recorded in Marsalis’ hometown of New Orleans and self-produced. In a World of Mallets is the first official release with his current band, the Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet.
