Highsnobiety Jazz TV, a collaborative multimedia initiative between the Newport Jazz Festival and the online magazine Highsnobiety, launches today (Oct. 26) for three days of 24-hour, free-to-all digital programming dedicated wholly to jazz.
A digital festival in its own right, Highsnobiety Jazz TV features live performances, archival footage from the history of the Newport Jazz Festival, music videos, DJ sets, and panels from both the music and fashion worlds. Artists featured include Charles Lloyd, Newport artistic director Christian McBride, Nubya Garcia, Christian Scott, Ashley Henry, Tank & the Bangas, Kunichi Nomura, and more.
The initiative serves as a fundraiser for the nonprofit Newport Festivals Musician Relief Fund, which provides relief microgrants to folk and jazz musicians who are unable to perform during the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, Highsnobiety Jazz TV also offers a suite of merchandise including T-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps, and a tote bag.
Visit the Highsnobiety Jazz TV website to catch its programs, buy merch, or get more information about the initiative.
