As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage and the world grapples with the prospect of reopening, musicians from around the globe will come together—virtually, from their separate homes—on Thursday, May 21, to raise hope through their performances as well as awareness of how to remain healthy in the face of the coronavirus. The Stay Well Concert, featuring keyboardist Chick Corea, singer Rubén Blades, trumpeter Mark Isham, and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, among many others, will be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Scientology Network; it will also stream at scientology.tv, YouTube Live, Facebook Live and Periscope.
During the one-hour telecast, artists will collaborate across both genres and continents. Besides the aforementioned players, the lineup will also include singer/songwriters David Pomeranz, David Broza, Kate Ceberano, Alberto Plaza, and France D’Amour; arranger/conductor David Campbell; bassist Carlitos Del Puerto; drummer Tom Brechtlein; and guitarist Greg Camp, founder of the rock band Smash Mouth.
Last month, many of the same performers—again under the auspices of Scientology—contributed to a song and accompanying music video called “Spread a Smile” that has been viewed by more than 10 million people to date.
