Berklee College of Music has announced the newest recipients of honorary doctor of music degrees. The four honorees include two jazz artists, pianist-composer Geri Allen and trumpeter/educator Thara Memory, as well as guitarist Jimmy Page (of Led Zeppelin fame) and vocalist Valerie Simpson.
Berklee president Roger H. Brown will present the degrees at Berklee’s commencement ceremony, May 10, at the Agganis Arena at Boston University. More than 900 Berklee graduates, their parents and invited guests will be in attendance. The ceremony and associated concert are not open to the public.
