Listen in on a conversation with vocalist Freda Payne on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Mack Avenue Music Group Jazz Talk Tent during the Detroit Jazz Festival.

Sponsored by JazzTimes, the talk will be moderated by Sirius XM’s Eulis Cathey. Payne, who is best known for the 1970 hit “Band of Gold,” takes the stage on Aug. 31 at 3:45 p.m. Catch her from noon to 12:45 p.m. on Sept. 1 in the Talk Tent.
