Chucho Valdés and Chick Corea will perform together for the first time at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater in New York City on November 15 and 16.
Valdés, the 77-year-old Cuban pianist who helped found Irakere in the 1970s, gets top billing. He will start out each of the two evening shows with a solo set, according to a JALC press release. Then the 78-year-old Corea, whose discography is too vast to even summarize in a short news item such as this one, will join him onstage for a duo performance.
