Charlie Haden Special Set for NPR

Tribute to the late bassist on “Fresh Air” begins tomorrow

Beginning today, July 18, NPR’s Fresh Air will broadcast a special program devoted to the legacy of bassist Charlie Haden, who died July 11. The program will include material from Haden’s five appearances on the program, dating back to 1983, including excerpts from each of Haden’s five interviews on the program.

Please note: though the program will air on most NPR stations today, some stations (including New York’s WNYC, WAMU in Washington, D.C., and KPCC in Los Angeles) will air it some time next week.
