Charles Lloyd receives his "note" on Beale Street

It’s been a long time since Charles Lloyd played a concert in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn. On Wednesday, April 11, this veteran sax player returned home to receive a note on the Beale Street Brass Note Walk of Fame, and on Thursday he played for a local audience at Rhodes College, his first Memphis concert since 1964. In the meantime Lloyd has played with greats that range from the Beach Boys to B.B. King and Cannonball Adderley.
