Cécile McLorin Salvant to Release New Album in September

“For One to Love” is vocalist’s followup to 2013 “WomanChild”

Vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant will release For One to Love, the followup to 2013’s WomanChild, on Sept. 4, it was announced by Mack Avenue Records. Salvant composed five original songs for the album, which also includes Burt Bacharach’s “Wives and Lovers,” “Growlin’ Dan” by Blanche Calloway (the first woman to lead an all-male orchestra, “What’s The Matter Now” (originally popularized by Bessie Smith), and “Le Mal De Vivre,” written by French singer Barbara in 1966, which Salvant performs in French.
