Horrific attack leads to French event's cancellation

Due to yesterday’s horrific attack in Nice, France, that left at least 84 people dead, the 2016 Nice Jazz Festival has been cancelled, as reported by the New York Times and other outlets. The festival was to take place July 16 through 20 at the Theatre de Verdure and Nice’s central plaza, Place Massena, and feature artists including Melody Gardot, Daniel Freedman, trumpeter Avishai Cohen with Bill McHenry, Snarky Puppy, the Steps Ahead Reunion Tour, Laura Mvula, Scofield/Mehldau/Guiliana, Abdullah Ibrahim and more.

JT will post more information as it becomes available. The victims and their families are in our thoughts and prayers.
