On September 24, the quintet Kneebody will release The Line, the band’s debut for the Concord label and fourth album overall. The project continues the group’s agenda of undeniable musicianship applied to compositions that meld a striking range of styles-from bop-rooted jazz to seminal fusion, R&B, indie-rock and the classical avant-garde. Kneebody is trumpeter Shane Endsley, saxophonist Ben Wendel, keyboardist Adam Benjamin, electric bassist Kaveh Rastegar and drummer Nate Wood.
