With a sweet yet powerful voice, NICOLE HENRY performs an eclectic mix of jazz standards and reimagined pop tunes by a diverse group of iconic composers including Anthony Newley, James Taylor, Rodgers & Hart, Buffy St. Marie, Ned Washington, and Joan Armatrading.

TIME TO LOVE AGAIN is Henry’s eighth CD and follows recordings that have earned Henry a Soul Train Award for “Best Traditional Jazz Performance” and three TOP 10 albums on Billboard and HMV Japan charts. She’s also garnered fans and rave reviews in over 20 countries where she has headlined in major venues including Blue Note, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Blues Alley, Feinstein’s, Jazz St. Louis, The Regattabar, Jazz Kitchen and Catalina Jazz Club. The Japan Times has said, “Nicole Henry holds an audience in the palm of her hand.”

Since her first release in 2004, Henry’s soulful interpretations have become a favorite with world-wide audiences and critics alike. Stephen Holden of The New York Times raved, “Every gesture and inflection conveyed confidence and mastery…time and again she invested familiar songs with an extra fillip of conviction and made you reconsider the words.” BroadwayWorld says, “So powerful is her charisma, so unique is her personality, so rich is her music, so abandoned is her joy…”

Henry assembled a top group of South Florida musicians for TIME TO LOVE AGAIN, including her core quartet of nine plus years PETE WALLACE (piano, keys, organ), ERIC ENGLAND (bass), DAVE CHIVERTON (drums), and AARON LEBOS (guitar), with guest soloists GREGOIRE MARET (harmonica), GRAMMY-nominated TROY ROBERTS (tenor), JOHN MICHALAK (tenor), and JEAN CAZE (trumpet). Aside from her own band’s arrangements, other arranging talent is added by pianists Shedrick Mitchell and Dave Cook as well as guitarist Marvin Sewell. A potent, dynamic and sincere performer, Ms. Henry tells real stories.. She has also recorded with Kirk Whalum, Julian Lage, Gerald Clayton and Gil Goldstein and has performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra and Michael Feinstein. Born in Philadelphia, raised in Bucks County, PA and graduated from the University of Miami, Henry’s career accomplishments and active commitment to non-profits have led to Ms. Henry being honored with three proclaimed “Nicole Henry Days” by the City of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County.

“Listen and you’ll hear an artist who knows how to make a song her own. Henry aims right for the emotional center…one comes away believing that Henry is a jazz vocalist poised on the cusp of bigger things.” – Billboard
