Clave Sol is a spicy fusion of jazz improvisation with Latin, funk, island, and world rhythms. Led by pianist Phil Gomez, this explosive quartet blends original music and Latin jazz standards. Gomez has established himself as a virtuoso in this syncopated jazz style, and mesmerizes audiences everywhere he plays. Clave Solʼs lively and danceable music is played to the rhythms of salsa, cha- cha-cha, bolero, tango, cumbia, merengue, samba, bossa nova, reggae, claypso, and more. Donʼt be surprised if you hear traces of Mongo Santamaria, Michel Camilo, Chick Corea, Carlos Santana or Joe Sample and the Jazz Crusaders. Phil Gomez began Clave Sol in 2000 with the concept of providing music that would be just as exciting for the audience as it was for the musicians. The result translates into a barrage of challenging musical motifs that are largely based on traditional Latin rhythms.
