Musica Nuda

Musica Nuda is a duo consisting of singer Petra Magoni and bassist Ferruccio Spinetti. Magoni was born in Pisa, Italy and was classically trained at the Livorno Conservatorio and Istituto Pontificio di Musica Sacra in Milan. Despite her training, she became a rock singer after she graduated. She was part of the band Senza Freni and appeared at several music festivals. In 1996 she released her first two solo albums. Magoni has had a wide-ranging career, which includes acting in the movie Bagnomaria and singing on its soundtrack. Using the pseudonym of Artepal, she recorded dance music. In 2000 while using the name Sweet Anima, she recorded an album of the same name. She has also worked with Giampaolo Antoni, the pop-oriented Aromatic and recorded a collection of alpine women songs titled Cime Domestiche. Italian bassist Ferruccio Spinetti is perhaps best known as a member of Avion Travel, a colorful group that mixes together tangos, rock, French chanson and electronica, along with Italian folk songs. In 2003 Petra Magoni and Ferruccio Spinetti teamed up together as Musica Nuda. The group’s first two recordings, Musica Nuda and Musica Nuda 2, feature the pair transforming pop standards into creative jazz. The albums sold quite well in Italy and throughout Europe. Musica Nuda has also released a set of sacred hymns (Quam Dilecta) and the live album Live a Fip.
