Keith Mohler

Keith began playing the electric bass at the age of twelve, at which time he developed a lifetime passion for his instrument. He attended Berklee College of Music where he began to explore the expressive potential of the acoustic bass. After graduating from Berklee, Keith joined up with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, travelling the world as a professional musician. He later went on to work with various other touring companies.

Longing to pursue a more jazz oriented career, Keith returned to his hometown in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he was in demand as a freelance musician. Keith began booking the Sunday Night Jazz Series at the East of Eden Pub, which was a continued success for eight years. During this time, Keith performed with many notable jazz artists such as Valery Ponomarev, Al Grey, Sal Nestico, Steve Turre, Tim Warfield, Diane Shurr, Nat Adderly, John Blake, Cecil Bridgewater and Johnny Coles.

For the past twenty years, Keith has continued the campaign to keep jazz music alive, by creating new venues in the local scene, and playing with various groups including the Reese Project and the Ken Gehret Jazz Trio.
