Judy Bady

Judy Bady, is a vocalist, (contralto), actress, writer and instructor. Judy, a native of Benton Harbor, Michigan, won three consecutive DOWN BEAT® Jazz Vocal Soloist Student Music Awards before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Studies from William Paterson University in 1998.

Judy has also performed and/or recorded with Gary Bartz; Andy Bey; Hamiet Bluiett; Tom Burns; George Cables; Doug Carn; Andrew Cyrille; Hubert Eaves, IV; Jon Faddis; Billy Harper; Craig Harris; Billy Hart; Jon Hendricks; John Hicks; Rodney Kendrick; Oliver Lake; Bill Lee; Barney McCall; Bobby McFerrin; Rene McLean; Misha Piatigorsky; Jay Rodriguez; Badal Roy; Hilton Ruiz; Paul Serrato; Aaron Scott; Francesca Tanksley; Piotr Wojtasik and Reggie Workman, among others. She has also performed as a leader in Moscow, Russia; Siberia, Russia; Szczecin, Poland; Katowice, Poland; and Yerevan, Armenia, (where her quartet performed at the 2006 Jazz Appreciation Month Jazz Festival presented by the Embassy of the United States in Armenia).
