Pianist Fabiano de Castro started in music at age 11 at the State Conservatory of Juiz de Fora and then in CIGAM (Ian Guest Musical Improvement Course) in Rio de Janeiro. In Juiz de Fora Fabiano worked with some prominent names from the music scene until he created the Pro-Music Trio Jazz and record a live CD in the Pro Jazz Festival in 1999. In the same year he founded the Grupo Scala de Jazz, before moving to New York to study at the Harbor Conservatory, in Harlen, with Robert Blumental. Fabiano participated in workshops at the School for Improvisational Music (SIM) with Ravi Coltrane, Steve Colleman, Vijay Ieyr, Uri Caine, Ralph Alessi, among others. He participates in the musical project Treme-Terraa the Morro do Querosene in Sao Paulo.
