Dayramir Gonzalez

The Havana-born Cuban pianist and composer began his professional career at 16 years old when he became the pianist for former Irakere member Oscar Valdes’ Afro-Cuban jazz project Diakara.

After winning the international JoJazz competitions in 2004 and 2005, he went on to form his own project “Habana enTRANCe,” winning three Cubadisco Awards.

He is the first Cuban national to be awarded Berklee College of Music’s Presidential scholarship and is the recipient of the 2013 Wayne Shorter Composer’s Award.
