Dario Chiazzolino

Dario Chiazzolino (b. 1985) is a multi-award winning Italian guitarist and composer. One of Italy’s most in-demand jazz musicians, he performs regularly and records with many top European and American jazz musicians.

The recipient of numerous awards, Dario has been playing guitar professionally since age 14. He was the first-prize winner of The Umbria Jazz Festival at age 21, he has been voted Best Jazz Guitarist by Italian Jazz magazine in 2011, in 2012 he was nominated Artist of the year by the Italian magazine D-magazine, in 2013 he was nominated Best Guitarist by Guitarlist and he was profiled in the ARCHIVIO CHITARRISTI JAZZ ITALIANI, a prestigious anthology of the greatest Italian jazz guitarists.

Dario has performed in jazz festivals across Europe, and regularly appears in clubs in Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Russia and Croatia.

Dario has performed and or recorded with Billy Cobham, Bob Mintzer, Dave Liebman, Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez, Andy Sheppard, Aaron Goldberg, Russell Ferrante, William Kennedy, Rick Stone, Felix Pastorius, Julio Barreto, Dominique Di Piazza, Taylor Eigsti, Antonio Faraò, Willie Jones III, Jimmy Haslip.

He has recorded 8 albums as a leader and co-leader, and 12 as a sideman; as in demand educator, Dario has been teaching in Italy for 15 years, and has held teaching residencies in many schools and universities in Italy, Uk, Spain and France.
