Saxophonist and recording artist Chris Reinhardt, born and raised in Berlin, Germany started his instrumental education at age 11, first attented music school in Erfurt, Germany guided by sax teachers Wolf Iben and Bernhard Wundrak. Afterwards Chris returned to Berlin to join university program and specialize in Jazz and popular music. He gets inspiration from trumpeter Chris Botti, saxophonist Boney James as well as composer/trumpeter Terence Blanchard. Influenced by his own blend of Jazz, with a touch of Soul, R&B and Pop, he brings his fresh, elegant sax grooves to create his own twist on the Jazz genre. After his 2010 collaboration with UK-Soul singer Bashiyra ‘The Voice’ on her single “It’s Working Out” and the appearance as a 2011 semi-finalist of the ISC International Songwriting Competition in the Jazz category (Nashville, TN.) alongside 2011 competition winner and vocalist Gregory Porter, he has been in the studio crafting his solo debut album. “Mind Evolution” featuring Jazz-Soul vocalist Rogiérs (former organist, keyboardist and background singer of multi-platinum Grammy winner Alicia Keys), produced by LA/Miami transplant and label head Astral 22 was the first teaser release of his album titled “Inside Identity – A reflection on the cycles of love” that features international guest appearances by Felix Dubiel (piano), Federico Beltro (drums) and Jesse Fischer (keys). The single “Mind Evolution” hit on #1 of ReverbNation’s Independent German Jazz Charts twice in May 2013 and January 2014, constantly grooved in the Top 20 for 85 weeks and entered the Top 50 on the Smooth Jazz Now Charts (North America) for 16 weeks at chart ranks #46, #44, #48 throughout 2013. The track “Drift” reached the Top 10 on the US-Groove Wave Radio Charts for 4 weeks and also hit on #1 of ReverbNation’s Independent German Jazz Charts after being released on the album “Inside Identity” on April 21st, 2014.
Chris regularly appears live on stage with German Classic/Pop/Jazz pianist Felix Dubiel and is part of the Jazz/Soul trio Tree Men, also he additionally resides in several band formations.
