Chris Greco

Greco was raised in the greater Los Angeles area and was trained and educated as a composer and multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, clarinet, flute). He was a significant contributor to the jazz culture of Los Angeles during the 1980’s and 1990’s as a frequent headliner at the jazz clubs, festivals, and venues, and performed regionally and abroad.

He worked in a variety of groups and explored different formats; quartet, quintet, duo, trio, large ensemble, and recorded three releases on the independent GWSFourwinds. The three releases represent Greco’s broad view of jazz and the subsequent directions he explored as a composer/performer.
