Brandon Coleman

Brandon Coleman is a guitarist and composer based in Cincinnati, OH. As a performer, he has performed at numerous festivals, clubs and stages, including the Loja Jazz Festival in Ecuador, the Columbus Jazz and Ribs Fest in Columbus, OH, the West Virginia Wine and Jazz Festival in Morgantown, WV and Bar Next Door in NYC. As a clinician, he has given masterclasses on guitar, harmony, composition and music business at Morehead State University, the University of Virginia, and West Virginia State University as well as numerous performing arts high schools regionally.

He leads his own original modern jazz group, The Brandon Coleman Quartet, which focuses on melodic compositions with tight arrangements and collective, energetic improvisation. He has shared the stage with numerous notable artists, including Noah Preminger, Bucky Pizzarelli, Joe Magnarelli, Dick Oatts, Joe LaBarbera, Eddie Gomez amongst many others.

Brandon earned his BM in Jazz Performance at Morehead State University where he studied guitar with Glenn Ginn and piano/organ with Dr. Steve Snyder. He went on to receive his MM in Jazz Performance at University of Louisville, where he studied guitar with Craig Wagner, and composition with Joe LaBarbera. Outside of his school studies, Brandon studied with Gilad Hekselman, Lionel Loueke and Jacob Duncan. Brandon is also an endorser of Curt Mangan Strings, Timber Tones guitar picks and Timberwolf Guitars.
