Woody Allen to Perform at Montreal Int’l Jazz Festival

Woody Allen, the famed director and actor, will perform with the New Orleans Jazz Band at this summer’s Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Allen, who plays clarinet, has had a long-running residency the Café Carlyle in New York but rarely plays music outside of his home base. Allen’s set will take place 7:30 p.m. on June 30th at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier, PdA (Pleins feux General Motors series).

In addition to Allen, other shows already announced include Aretha Franklin, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Steely Dan, Saxophone Summit with Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman and Ravi Coltrane; Charlie Haden Quartet West, Leonard Cohen, Return to Forever with Chick Corea; James Taylor and his band of legends, and Katie Melua, among others. A complete indoor show schedule will be announced May 6; the free outdoor shows are announced June 3.
