UCLA Hosts 20th Annual Jazz & Reggae Festival May 28-29

UCLA hosts its 20th Annual Jazz & Reggae Festival May 28-29. The two-day concert will be held on the University’s Intramural Field (near Pauley Pavilion, 301 Westwood Plaza) and offers A-list talent at modest ticket prices.

The jazz program will take place on Sunday, May 28 and includes Diane Reeves (pictured), Floetry, Kenny Burrell and the Gerald Wilson Orchestra. In addition, Trio Beyond featuring John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette and Larry Goldings will perform selections from Saudades, their ECM double-disc to be released June 6.

The reggae program follows on Monday, May 29 and features Caribbean heavyweights Buju Banton, Assassin, Bushman, Irie Love, Tami Chynn and Macka Diamond.

Music will run from 11 a.m until 7 p.m. on both days. Tickets cost $15 per day or $25 for a two-day pass and can be obtained through Ticketmaster or at UCLA’s Central Ticket Office. UCLA students can get free student tickets with identification, though those tickets will not be available on show days. Attendees can park alongside the Pauley Pavilion and West Center in Lot 6 for just $8.
