Dutch saxophonist Tineke Postma’s first two albums were well received and this one promises a similar reception. The program consists entirely of her compositions, except for two by Duke Ellington and one by Billy Strayhorn. Her originals exhibit an up-to-the-moment contemporary character with an emphasis on melody. Some tracks, such as her “Magic Two,” are subtle and reflective, while others, like “Travelling Circus,” swing energetically.
