The Jazz Passengers Interpret the Supremes

On March 15 and 17, the Jazz Passengers will perform The Supremes Project at the Brooklyn Information & Culture studio (BRICstudio).

Led by saxophonist and composer Roy Nathanson (pictured), the Jazz Passengers unveil their latest project, a program of interpretations from treasured girls group the Supremes, coordinated with the help of Danny Kahn.

Nathanson and trombonist Curtis Fowlkes founded the Jazz Passengers in 1987, getting their early start touring with John Lurie’s band the Lounge Lizards. Since then, the hard-bop outfit has explored the bizarre (a live score to the 1954 classic horror film Creature From the Black Lagoon), the creative (The Fire at Keaton’s Bar & Grille) and the prestigious (collaborations with Elvis Costello, Deborah Harry and the BBC Concert Orchestra).
