Tanglewood to Feature Connick, Branford Marsalis

The Tanglewood Jazz Festival will celebrate its 15th year on September 3-5 in Lenox, Mass., offering a lineup that includes the Harry Connick Jr. Orchestra, the Dave Brubeck Quartet and Symphonette, Marian McPartland, Eliane Elias, Eddie Palmieri and La Perfecta II and the Branford Marsalis Quartet.

The festival’s events take place in two different venues at Tanglewood, an arts complex that plays home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The majority of the festival performances take place in the Seiji Ozawa Hall, while the keystone performance by Connick (pictured) and his Orchestra will occur in the Koussevitzky Music Shed.

The festival’s artistic director is Fred Taylor, a former Boston club owner known for his creative selection of artists and lifelong commitment to music. For Tanglewood, Taylor carefully designed a program that appeals to a wide audience of jazz, blues and Latin music fans. His approach to booking has resulted in over 48,000 people attending the festival in just the past three years.
