Tamara Danielsson: So It Goes

Danielsson, who plays saxophone and flute, is a cross between Grover Washington, Jr. and Kenny G. The Grover influence is heard on the funky, upbeat tunes, “Ndoki” and “Slap Me Back.” The Kenny G sound comes through on the ballads. Joined by pianist Per Danielsson, guitarist Stephen Luciano, bassist Doug Matthews and percussionist Keith Wilson, Danielsson offers 12 tunes, including the pop standard, “Natural Woman,” with vocals by Davonda Simmons.

The Danielsson team composed most of the tunes.
