Stallone Promotes Oscars, Releases CD

Act fast and you might still catch a commercial for Sunday night’s Oscar ceremony that features Frank Stallone’s “All of You.” The spitting image of his big brother Sylvester, Stallone (pictured) has been writing and performing music since the mid-’70s, sometimes contributing soundtrack music for his brother’s films, sometimes releasing albums of his own. Recently Stallone has fancied himself as a Sinatra of sorts. His last album, Frankie and Billy had him singing along to a big-band playing Billy May charts. On May 13 Stallone will release the follow-up, In Love In Vain, another big-band disc, this time with the Sammy Nestico Orchestra, on which “All of You” appears. The record features a few more standards like “But Beautiful” and “Witchcraft” as well. The commercial will continue to run on all ABC network affiliates and various cable stations through Sunday night.
