Saxual Writing

Adolphe Sax would be truly surprised by some of the things that his creation, the saxophone, has inspired, including jazz, blues and overpriced pens. You can prove that you’re a truly stylish jazz fan with an Adolphe Sax pen from Yafa, which are made to look vaguely like the instrument they are named after.

The pen comes in four versions: Platinum, Celebration, special and limited edition, though all of them are collectible and in short supply. The Platinum and Celebration editions are limited to 14 and 46 pieces, respectively, and the special and limited edition are limited to 814 pieces each. All the pens are made partially with precious metals, and the Platinum offers a combination of solid platinum, 18kt solid gold and precious stones. The costs run from a $350 to a mere $15,000 for the “Haute Joaillerie Fountain” version, made of gold and platinum and studded with diamonds, rubies and sapphires.

Considering I lose more pens than I keep, I’ll stick to my 98-cent pens from Staples, thanks. But if you want more information, check out http://sendpens.com/Delta_adolphe_sax_pens.asp.
