S.F. Jazz Heritage Center presents “Living Legends of Fillmore” Concert

A concert titled “Living Legends of Fillmore” will take place 2 PM on February 24th, at the West Bay Conference Center, 1290 Fillmore Street/Eddy, in San Francisco. Slated to appear are Frank Jackson (piano and vocals), John Handy (pictured, sax), Denise Perrier (vocals), Eddie Duran (guitar), Al Obidinski (bass), Allen Smith (trumpet and flugelhorn), and Akira Tana (drums).

The concert, sponsored by Wells Fargo, is free but donations may be made to support the non-profit Jazz Heritage Center’s developing programs. Attendees can also enjoy the view across the street at the new Jazz Heritage Center, 1320 Fillmore Street, as dozens of giant photo panels revolve outside, trumpeting jazz greats.

Along with the “Livings Legends” concert, media personality Noah Griffin will kick off the celebration by introducing performances by the Village Project Kids as they sing “Lift Every Voice.” Also, the Handful Players will unveil a scene from award-winning Marcus Gardley’s original new play The Fillmore Five: A Jazz Musical Rhapsody.
