The iconic jazz drummer Roy Haynes will be the subject of a weekend-long celebration on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Pure Jazz channel, this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15th and 16th. The programming, dedicated to Haynes’ six-decade career, will feature hourly interview clips with Haynes discussing his music and the musicians he has played with over the years, including fellow legends Lester Young, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Miles Davis, among many others. Roy Haynes: A Life in Time will air on Sirius channel 72, beginning at 9 AM ET on Saturday until midnight Monday.
