The Ropeadope co. will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an all-star jam to be held June 10 at NYC’s Sullivan Hall. The lineup thus far includes some of the best jazz-trained jam-banders: keyboardist John Medeski, saxophonist John Ellis, guitarist Charlie Hunter, drummer Billy Martin and turntablist DJ Logic. Many more special guests are expected.
In addition to toasting a decade of Ropeadope, the show will act as a benefit for label producer Scotty Hard, who was paralyzed in a car accident in ’08 but is eager to get back to work in his new studio.
Ropeadope, a record label, clothing company and lifestyle brand that embodies the intelligent, wide-open tastes and retro cool of crate-digging culture, has released music by Christian McBride, Marco Benevento, Bobby Previte, the Campbell Brothers, Skip Heller and Dred Scott, among many others.
