For those who share a passion for live jazz and live sport, a bargain is awaiting you. During the second week in August, Rochester, N.Y. will play host to both the International Rochester Jazz Festival (June 10-18) and the Wegmans Rochester LPGA (June 13-19). Promoters for both events have made it possible for those attending one event to receive a discount on tickets for the remaining event.
Presenting your 2005 Rochester International Jazz Festival Club Pass or Eastman Theater ticket at the gate of Locust Hill Country Club – the site of the LPGA tournament – will save $2 of any LPGA Daily Ticket or Tournament Pass. The discount is only available for tickets purchased at the gate and is not valid for advance sales.
Conversely, showing your 2005 Wegmans Rochester LPGA ticket at the Jazz Shop will save $2 off the purchase of a Rochester International Jazz Festival Club Pass or Eastman Theatre ticket. The discount is only available on tickets purchased at the Jazz Shop and is also not valid for prior purchases.
This year’s Rochester Jazz Festival (see related story, “Rochester Jazz Fest Needs Volunteers”) will feature more than one hundred performances over a period of nine days. Featured artists include Sonny Rollins, Dave Brubeck, Chris Botti, John Scofield, the Bad Plus and Chick Corea.
Festival tickets are available at the Festival Jazz Shop and through Ticketmaster.
