Rochester Jazz Fest Needs Volunteers

If you can spare a little of your precious summer free time, you might want to consider volunteering at the 2005 Rochester International Jazz Festival from June 10-18. Volunteers are needed at the evening concerts to help check tickets and club passes, sell festival merchandise and provide general hospitality. Shift times are between 5 p.m. and midnight.

Volunteers will receive perks including an official shirt and a one-day Club Pass to enter any Club Pass Show (space allowing). To apply, visit www.rochesterjazz.com, print and complete the Volunteer Application Form (see link on home page) and fax it to (585) 473-7645. To request a form by mail, call 585-473-4482.

This year’s Rochester International Jazz Festival features headliners including Sonny Rollins, Dave Brubeck (pictured), Chris Botti, Chaka Khan and Chick Corea. The nine-day festival will include over 100 concerts and 500 musicians from over 15 different countries.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and at www.rochesterjazz.com. Prices for headliner shows are $27.50 to $65. A Club Pass, with access to more than 100 Club Shows, is $75 and $85 beginning June 10. Single Club Shows are $15 or $20 at the door.
