PRS Hosts Charity Golf Event

Just months after donating an axe to every single high school in Maryland, Paul Reed Smith Guitars continues with the philanthropic gestures, this time teaming with the Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University to co-host the Third Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which supports the school’s Living With Cancer Resource Program.

Founded in 1998, the Living with Cancer Resource Program has since helped hundreds of cancer patients and their families by providing educational workshops, support groups and other activities, free of charge, as a way to ease some of the stress encountered during an experience with cancer.

To raise money for the worthy cause, Paul Reed Smith is putting a number of guitars up for auction at the golfing event, which takes place September 26 and 27 at Bulle Rock Golf Course (pictured) in Havre de Grace, Md. The guitars are great, but golfing is the main draw. Cash prizes will be given to winners in the tournament, plus there will be a hole-in-one competition for the handsome sum of 1 million dollars. Sound good? Tournament registration forms are downloadable from prsguitars.com. More information on the family-friendly event is available at the site as well.

What’s the jazz relevance, you cry? Um…Paul Reed Smith makes a few lovely archtop guitars perfect for attaining that drool-inspiring tone. Buy a couple of them today at your local PRS dealer. How’s that?
