Alfred Publishing released a tribute to Gene Krupa this week, titled Gene Krupa: The Pictorial Life of a Jazz Legend, with commentary by fellow percussionist and video producer Bruce Klauber.
The book contains over 200 photos that span six decades of jazz history and includes contributions from drummers Phil Collins, Tommy Aldridge, John Blackwell, Peter Erskine, Ed Shaughnessey, Peter Criss, Kenny Aronoff, Alphonse Mouzon, Carl Palmer, David Garibaldi, Carmine Appice, Alex Acuna, Neal Peart and Steve Smith.
The Pictorial Life of a Jazz Legend also includes a companion CD with previously unreleased tracks that span five decades of Krupa’s unmistakable drumming.
