No Minimum to Feature Barron and Miller

The duo-piano series No Minimum’s latest installment will feature Kenny Barron (pictured) and Mulgrew Miller. The concert will take place on Feb.14-Valentine’s Day, in case you forgot-at the Kaufman Center’s Merkin Concert Hall in New York.

Barron’s long career includes stints with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Getz to Freddie Hubbard and Buddy Rich. He also co-led the Thelonious Monk tribute group Sphere with saxophonist Charlie Rouse, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Ben Riley.

Miller got his start with Mercer Ellington’s big band in the late 1970s and has also played with the likes of Betty Carter, Woody Shaw’s Quintet and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers.

In addition to their upcoming No Minimum performance, Barron and Miller teamed up in 1995 as the two shared the stage while touring Europe and the United States.
