New Music To Be Premiered at Rova Festival

Rova: Arts presents Rovate 2001, a festival of new music on April 5 and 6 in San Francisco. This annual gathering will feature performances by the Rova Saxophone Quartet; Orkestrova, the incendiary 13-piece band led by trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith featuring former Kronos Quartet cellist Joan Jeanrenaud and guitarist Fred Frith; and Bay Area all-stars, the John Schott Ensemble. Rovate 2001 will feature new compositions by Smith, pianist Graham Connah, and guitarist Schott commissioned by Rova: Arts and a new composition by Rova member Larry Ochs commissioned by Chamber Music America.
