Nellie McKay Leaves Columbia, Album Release Delayed

Singer Nellie McKay has left Columbia over a dispute regarding her upcoming album, Pretty Little Head, which was to be released Jan. 3. McKay signed to Columbia in 2003 and, last year, released her debut album, Get Away From Me to critical acclaim.

Columbia was planning to release a 16-song, 48-minute version of Pretty Little Head, though McKay had been publicly campaigning for the release of a 23-song, 65-minute album, even giving concert audiences the email of Columbia President Will Botwin and urging them to write and complain.
