Nebraska Jazz Camp to Be Held in July

Nebraska Wesleyan University will hold a jazz camp on its campus July 19 – 23 that is open to all musicians who are at least in the seventh grade. The week’s curriculum will include intensive master classes in jazz improvisation and theory, standard jazz literature, electronic music and more. Students will participate in big band and combo performances and jam sessions, plus a final concert, in addition to attending local jazz performances and off-campus social events.

Everything will happen at NWU’s Rogers Fine Arts Center, a facility tricked out with a 1,500-seat auditorium, a recital hall, practice rooms and composition and computer labs. The faculty includes a number of musicians who work in the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra and who, over the years, have worked with many jazz greats.
