Michael Wolff Brings Impure Thoughts to the Nation’s Capital

Michael Wolff and Impure Thoughts will appear at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater Thursday January 11th. With the success of his recent self-titled album, Wolff and his new sound have been described as “adventurous, and “mesmerizing”. With its new lineup (saxophonist Alex Foster, drummer Victor Jones, bassist John Williams and tabla player Badal Roy) Impure Thoughts is not just a sound, but a synthesis of sounds and styles of music which Wolff describes as ” . . . a mutt. It is not one thing. It is Impure.” Following their date in Washington DC, Michael Wolff & Impure Thoughts can be seen in New York at the West Bank café on January 13th and 14th at the Miami Jazz Festival with David Sanborn and Poncho Sanchez.
