Michael Feinstein to Sing in Macy’s Parade

Partly because he has a new release on a new label to promote and mostly because he likes large inflatable animals just like anyone else, vocal star Michael Feinstein will appear in Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, singing a tune while being carried through Manhattan on the Lego float. Who knows what he’ll sing. Maybe a holiday tune, maybe something off his new Livingston and Evans Songbook (Feinery)-“Through Children’s Eyes” seems fitting given his ride. Whatever the case, Feinstein’s the closest thing to a jazz performer appearing in the parade this year. (Last year Tony Bennett represented jazz in the parade and fumbled his way through “Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer.”)

If you’ll be too busy stuffing a turkey to tune in to NBC at 9 a.m. on Thursday and watch, no problem. Feinstein will be back on network TV Dec. 2 as a guest on the Today Show and then again on Dec. 6 on Fox’s Good Day New York. Check your local listings for times.

More information on Feinstein and what he’s up to is available at www.michaelfeinstein.com.
