Pianist and composer Marcus Roberts has confirmed a series of performances for the spring and summer. The Marcus Roberts Trio, featuring Jason Marsalis (drums) and Roland Guerin (bass), will be augmented by high school jazz bands to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The trio will perform work from the new record on selected dates. The tour wraps up in New York City with multiple performances at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola for Jazz at Lincoln Center, July 7th through July 12th.
On New Orleans Meets Harlem, Vol. 1, Roberts interprets the work of greats such as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk.
