Manzel: Midnight Theme

From the sublime to the ridiculous, Manzel is a trio led by organist Manzel Bush. Their Midnight Theme (Dopebrother) is a collection of monotonous, incredibly dated and inherently cheesy tracks from the ’70s that sound like outtakes from failed blaxploitation flicks of that era. Somebody thought it was a good idea to remix and repackage this dreadful hunk o’ cheddar. Fact is, Manzel has as much chance of becoming a hit today as the short-lived NBC police drama Manimal did back in 1983. In the words of Leonard Pinth-Garnell from Saturday Night Live’s “Bad Theatre” skit: “Stunningly bad…positively awful!”
