Luther Allison: Bad News is Coming

Wicked tracks from 1972 by the late great Chicago guitar slinger featuring some intensely scorching fretboard work and throat-ripping vocals on Willie Dixon’s “The Little Red Rooster,” some slashing slide work on Elmore James’ “Dust My Broom” and on a slowed down version of B.B. King’s “Rock Me Baby,” and some deep blue testifying on the title track. Previously unreleased tracks include a ripping rendition of the Freddie King instrumental “The Stumble,” a faithful reading of the Windy City blues anthem “Sweet Home Chicago” and a funky reading of Little Willie John’s “Take My Love (I Want to Give It All to You”).
