Lineup for 18th Annual Berks Jazz Fest Announced

The 18th annual Berks Jazz Fest will take place in Pennsylvania from March 28 to April 6, 2008. The festival, which will offer an array of styles from jazz to blues to gospel, will be held at a variety of venues in Reading and Berks Counties.

The festival is sponsored by VF Outlet, which will continue to fund the event through 2010. VF Outlet helped launch the festival in 1991, and Berks Jazz Fest is now a 10-day event.

Highlights of this year’s festival will include performances from vocalist Nancy Wilson (pictured) and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Buddy Guy; a New Orleans Funky Friday show with Maria Muldaur and Bonerama; and the Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, a group of high-energy jazz dance performers. Other unique events will include “To Grover with Love,” a concert in honor of the late saxophone player Grover Washington Jr., and the world premiere of Global Noize, a show by music director and keyboardist Jason Miles.
