Leeds Jazz Conference Planned for Spring

Leeds College of Music will host the Leeds International Jazz Conference, one of the largest European jazz conferences, March 24 and 25. This year marks the 12th year of the conference, which includes workshops, panel discussions, presentations and performances with some of Europe’s greatest jazz musicians and educators.

This year’s conference theme is Jazz, Politics and the Popular and is designed to foster discussion about the relationship between jazz and popular culture.

The keynote speaker is music journalist Simon Frith, who has penned several books on the sociology of rock, including Music for Pleasure and Art Into Pop.
