L.A. Philharmonic Jazz Series Pays Tribute to Bassist Ray Brown

The Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2008/09 Jazz Series at Walt Disney Concert Hall will feature A Tribute to Ray Brown on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 8 p.m. Sharing the stage to celebrate the legendary bassist is an all-star group of musicians directly influenced by Brown. This very special engagement features the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Creative Chair for Jazz, Christian McBride, Brown’s former bandmates Benny Green (piano), Geoff Keezer (piano), Greg Hutchinson (drums) and Karriem Riggins (drums), as well as former friends and collaborators Russell Malone (guitar), Barbara Morrison (vocals), John Clayton (bass) and Ernie Andrews (vocals).

Walt Disney Concert Hall is at 111 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles.
