Joe Lovano to Serve as Artist in Residence at Germany’s JazzBaltica 2008 Festival

Saxophonist Joe Lovano will be the Artist in Residence at JazzBaltica 2008, a jazz festival scheduled for July 2-6 in various locations in northern Germany. Lovano, who was recently nominated for a Grammy for his CD with Hank Jones, Kids: Live At Dizzy´s Club Coca Cola (Blue Note/EMI), will perform on all three concert days in Salzau with different musicians. The shows will take place in Husum, Luebeck, Kiel (opening session) and Salzau castle.

“For this year’s focus point, Joe Lovano is the perfect Artist in Residence,” said Rainer Haarman, Artistic Director of JazzBaltica. “He will influence JazzBaltica 2008 in his own way and we are really looking forward to all the different projects and concerts with him and other jazz greats from U.S. or from Europe to present the sax in all its different facets.”

The full program of JazzBaltica 2008 will be published on April 11th and tickets can be purchased beginning April 16th. For further information: JazzBaltica.
